As far as I know Kell does not mention vibrato. It reminds me of what
Rampal said at a masterclass when someone asked him how he teaches the
VIBRATO. He looked at the young questioner and replied "I don't teach
the vibrato--I teach the flute." But there is a very good paper written
on vibrato for the clarinet by Paul Drushler of Shall-u-Mo Press. I will do
some research and come up with a title, etc. My teacher Alan Hacker who
was a pupil of Kell's at the RAM never mentioned vibrato--but he certainly
would and could use it if he so felt the need. Ron
