In my opinion the key to developing speed when tonguing is to learn how to
tongue SHORT; when tonguing fast what you are in fact producing are a series of
short notes. I refer you to Daniel Bonade's wonderful Compendium to read what
I consider to be the best tutor on how to tongue in a manner that lends itself
to increased speed and flexibility of articulation.
