Hmm, a statement like this just cries out for amplification.
Who accepts these as best, and why?

On another, um, note, someone a long time ago made a comment about
how, when he didn't practice for a while, his single-tonguing speed
was the first thing to go. How do other people improve their
single-tonguing? Are there any particularly good exercises?
Tonguing repeated notes? Tonguing scales? Some nasty method
book that I don't know about?
