I know that technically this is a no-no, but many of you out there are
"university-bound", so perhaps you can help me...

This is my second university to attend. I have been around both Music
departments a lot, and I must say that I have noticed a really weird trend. It
seems that a fair number of the instrumental majors and ALL o the vocal majors
smoke. I don't and never want to.

This idea, especially for the vocal majors, seems so contrary to common sense
as to be purely status. It would seem that only a moment's thought would
contribute to the creative minds the absolute idiocy of smoking when you are
planning to make your livelihood using your throat, lungs, and mouth.

To any smokers out there, pardon me for my strong words. But, I honestly can't
see the sense in doing it. Can anyone out there explain it to me?
