Have you checked to see if the key is opening far enough? I know from
experience that if the key is not opening far enough that the sound will
be stuffy. (I had bumped my clarinet and bent the key) It was an easy
repair, however. :)

As for the water problem.... When you are not playing the
clarinet how do you place it.. Let me be more clear here..
Do you hold it upright, tilt it, or place it on its side??
I have noticed that when I place the clarinet (or even lean it to
the side) on the side with the c#/g# key dowm water will move into
the tone hole. When the clarinet is placed in the upright position
when I am not playing this problem of water in the tone hole seems
to be greatly dimished.
