Luckily my grandfather never had to study with a non-Boehm flute. My
wooden flutes are, with one exception, Boehm flutes made by Haynes. I
recently bought a `standard' 8-keyed wooden flute and it is narrower than
the modern instruments, not a@-----. (It is fun to imagine playing that
flute in an orchestra. All those beethoven solos I've played on that thing?
Wow!)
