Dear Scott McC.,
"Water trax?" What these? Have you changed your practice or usual playing
environments at all? The incidence of water in holes is strongly dependent on
nuances of playing angle - and also water-producing conditions such as cold
rooms and saliva-inducing food, especially sweets/candies. (Try sucking a mint
or some barley-sugar before playing for this effect; of course, this affects
the reed as well). I find sharing a copy with someone on the left is highly
likely to produce water infestation of either the C#/G# or the side E flat/B
flat keyhole or both, because of the slight departure from the optimum
orientation of the instrument.
