Benny Goodman has been mentioned several times recently. The Public
Television American Masters special entitled "Benny Goodman, Adventures
in the Kingdom of Swing" is not to be missed. This show was televised
several months ago on WGBH Boston, and it's being repearted on the 19th
of March at 8:15 pm on Channel 44, Boston (WGBH's other station). If this
turns up in your area, do see it.

It has wonderful film footage from all periods of Goodman's life,
including jam sessions, movie clips and family home movies. It is also
the first time that Goodmans family has been interviewed. Jazz musicians
who worked with Goodman talk about their experiences with him (the
infamous Goodman "ray," etc.)

The music includes the orchestra, quartet with Hampton, Krupa and Wilson,
and other assorted combos.
