I had mentioned an article by Tom Ridenour concerning tuning of the soprano
clarinet by making adjustments to the mouthpiece. I was a bit surprised by
that because I was always "told" (by THEM) that this was a nono. So I really
never did much with small variations of the mouthpiece. Now I have been
hearing many things about the use of slight adjustments to the mouthpiece and
have become curious. The bit about the Buffet tuning rings is a new one on
me. I find these bits fascinating. Just letting my fingers wander over my
IBM keyborard this AM. The reed warpage question should generate a fair
amount of comment. But I shall "lurk" a bit.
