No laughing--Cary put out the information that if you see a klarinette
part in B from a German firm or by a German/AUSTRO COMPOSER (oops) it
indicates Bb--h is a B natural. So we get the Brahms Klarinette Quintet in
h-moll (b minor). And we have a C.Stamitz concert in B-Dur, a Reger Sonata
in fis-moll, etc. I remeber years ago wondering how I was going to trans-
pose this incredible part for the B Klarinette. I did and it sound horrid--
but my teacher did not laugh--he smiled and explained something about a
piano piece by Schumann on the name BACH--and the rest is history.
