If I might just interject--the Mozart clarinet concerto would sound ever
so much better be it on a basset clarinet or on just a regular soprano--but
don't you really think that either type should be in A? I really will start
a ruckus now--but , oh well. Stadler is reported to have had such a creature
in Bb (Sib oder B) but the only modern one I know of is owned by Alan Hacker
of England--he has had some music written for him--but I think we really
mean any soprano instrument in A? I do hope so.
