Subj: How mail gets directed

Cary is seeing only one side of a conversation and correctly presumes
that there is a problem. I think I am a part of that problem.

When I receive mail that speaks about the clarinet, I invariably
presume that it came to me via KLARINET and not as a personal note.
And so I direct a response to the list as I have been doing. But
as I look at the various mail that I do receive (from this and other
lists) I realize that I am going to have to make the effort to find
out if the communication is personal or from the list.

I do not know why the system suddenly changed seats on me in the
middle of a performance but it did. And my system people are as
confused about why as anyone else. According to them they did nothing
to cause this to happen. So that is the way it is and I don't think
we are going to be able to do much about this.

So, in the future, I will have to examine every message to which I
respond (which is probably 1 out of 10 or so) and decide more
carefully how I am to do this.

As I said earlier, I am a part of this new problem even though I
did not cause it and I shall have to make an effort to help solve
it.
