That fingering does wonders--especially for very soft entrances--but as with
everything in clarinetistry you pay a price--it works well--expecially pppp
but goes into the intonation column like an atomic frisbee--real high. But
it is good to know of the choice. By the way Tom Ridenour's book on the
altissimo register and his multitude of fingerings and suggested uses it
something I find invaluable. I had some copies at one time but only have
one--and a "mystery" student has that--I must get a check-out system going.
