I don't know about anybody else, but I've only been receiving Dan's half
of this discussion via the list. I've also been suspicious about Dan's
occasional mention of communications which were of obvious interest
to the entire list but which he assumed had been sent to him directly out of
personal consideration.

Would everyone here ***PLEASE*** make sure that you are sending messages
to the distribution list if that is your intention, and not directly to
the person upon whose communication you are commenting.

I realize that we are all using email handling programs which may
function slightly differently, but every program allows you to
specify to whom a message is addressed. The problem that I'm talking
about results when replying automatically to a communication which has the
author's address in an unexpected position in the message's mail header.
(This header garbling is a classic problem with email that passes through
numerous agents.) So, once again, please double check the address of an
outgoing communication before posting it.
