Andrea Hakari mentioned a "doubling gig" for her, as a bass clarinetist, on
contra. I, too, have played contra in addition to my regular bass clarinet seat
in the Ithaca College Wind Ensemble but have been plagued with anxiety over t
he
numerous seat openings for bass clarinet/third clarinet in professional
orchestras. Also, how about bass clarinet/low saxophone in military bands?
Please--HELP! Has anyone out there ever played bass/3rd clarinet, etc.?
I am young, scared, and RUSTY on Bb--I beg for words of wisdom.
