With travel and the possibility of the summer (it may never come to the
Bluegrass) ahead--if anyone ventures to England you may want to consider
the instrumental collection at Kneller Hall-The Royal Military School of
Music. I am not sure it is open to the general public but there are ways
to make contact, etc. I also remember a tour given to me of the instrumental
collection at Boosey & Hawkes (Edgeware Plant) in the early 70's during
my study in London. What with the current state of affairs with B&H I am
not sure of the tours--but those instruments had to go somewhere. If anyone
is planning a trip there I would be glad to gather information for you.
