I for one agree--it is of interest. Our instrument collection here at
UK has a wonderful CONN bass saxophone. When I got here it was listed
in the catalog as surplus and valued at $50.00. After WWII the university
got hold of it--army band somewhere. The Conn factory in Elkhart completely
redid it and wanted to purchase it for their collection. Someone wisely
declined their offer. The value of the instrument has been increaded for
our insurance needs.!! We also have a very Buescher curved soprano--really
curved--baby alto style--people who do play these regularly say it is quite
a remarkable instrument. And yes many times these instruments are played
with vibrato.
