When I was a student at Northwestern the solo flute in the orchestra and in
the wind quintet I played in had a Haynes with a low Bb foot!! My wife's
flute teacher Lowry Sanders (pic of the London Syn Orch--retired now) had
a Cooper pic with a low C foot.
I have lost the message--about cork grease--but I have used mutton tallow
for years on all my instruments. It can be purchased (medicinally pure)
from Nunnelly in Tenn. A one ounce metal container lasts for a long long
time. It does not turn rancid and does not have an unpleasant odor.
