In regard to part copying, I'd like to share my recent experiences with
music software. I've found two products that work very nicely for creating
parts. One is Copyist Professional Music Publishing Software which is a
very nice product for inputting and creating parts of scores. The other
is Midiscan which allows scanning of software into TIFF files which can
then be converted to MNOD files, then to MIDI files, and then into
Copyist. These products take some "dues paying" in the way of gaining
the experience and skill for using, but ultimately, can save considerable
time in creation of music scores and parts. If anyone is interested
in more details, let me know. P.S. I've been creating clarinet solos
for various opera arias, mostly Mozart and Puccini. Lots of fun!
