This address works for me also, although klarinet@-----.BITNET
also works.

The '%' is substitutes for the '@-----. With the above address,
you're sending email to the machine VTBIT.CC.VT.EDU which
is an internet host (I'm guessing that its an educational
institution in vermont). VTBIT's email software than strips
off its own address, and changes the '%' back to an '='
(or whatever is appropriate for the bitnet). Its the same
as Dan actually sending mail to KLARINET=VCCSCENT from
the VTBIT machine.

Does that make sense? Think of the '%' as the second ending.
