One aspect of the clarinet that bothers me is having to apply cork grease,
assemble, wet the reed, etc., before playing.
Then, having to dissassemble, run a cloth through the bore, wipe the moisture
from each of the joints and put away each time I'm done playing. If I play
3 or 4 times a day, this is much time spend in assemble and disassemble.

What would happen if I assemble it one each morning, before the first
playing, then let it sit on a peg stand between playings, just removing
the reed, then at end of day, wiping it out and dissassembling? Does
anyone do any variation of this? Would the instrument rot out, cake with
awful stuff, etc., etc.?! What regiment do others follow?
