For what it is worth--sometimes when I play clarinet and I think I am using
vibrato--warming things up--making a point--several of my students felt that
they really heard no vibrato--but I am convinced I was doing something--so
for me it may very well be musical need coupled to an inside the head thing.
I am sure that is confusing--but I just don't understand the technical aspects
other than the studies I know of for saxophone. Don't mean to clutter up the
list--but there it is.
