Since we're all going all out...
I am a strictly amateur Clarinet player studying in Iowa, of all places. In
truth, I am studying to write for film and TV, but one must pick a mjor
instrument, and I chose Clarinet over piano.
I have only been studying for 9 years, and I just started again here at the
University of Northern Iowa after a brief hiatus. In case you are all thinking
that I chose my instrument only to satisfy the major, I happen to like playing
my clarinet VERY much. When I first tried out for instruments in 6th grade, I
really REALLY wanted to be a French Horn player, but I had braces, so they
stuck a Clarinet in my mouth. Thank God for small miracles... :)
ANYWAY, on to my question fot the night. I recently got a CD from my mom for
Valentine's Day, and it is all brass music. There was one set of pieces that
intrigued me very much called _Episodes For Brass_ by Allan Vizutti.
It is rather obscure, or so my brass friends tell me, but I like the piece, and
I was wondering if there was any arrangement available for Clarinet ensemble -
or Clarinet and woodwinds, or anything like that. I listened to it three
times, and the principal Trumpet part would lay quite well, IMHO, on a
Clarinet. I don't want to transcribe it myself if I don't have to.
Any help out there?
