I originally posted the idea about old clarinets "blowing out"
because I really had no clue. I'm happy that it has generated a
lot of discussion. I don't know if I believe it or not.
I guess that I'll just keep playing and see what happens. I
think that my clarinet sounds wonderful right now and I wouldn't
think of getting a new one (of course, being a college student
and up to my ears in loans, I can't afford one!!) :).
I just had my clarinet overhauled last spring and the
difference was amazing! I know that I have to be careful with
the instrument, as anyone does with their instrument. I have
discovered that my keys are very soft and the bend really
easily. I have to make sure not to hit anything. ( I can
be a bit scatter-barined!)
Does anyone else have keys that bend really easily??
