I to have some really mis-matched (color) wood and a few patches in the bell
of one of my clarinets. I do not know if matching up is possible or not--
I still really would like to get my hands on the TV show about the wood
that friend Dan of the North Coast mentioned.

I have one clarinet in which the bell is the most wonderful looking piece of
wood I have ever seen. They tell me there was a time when the bells, barrels
and body joints all came as an integral set--some old ones even have the serial

numbers on each piece. Gone are the days--anyone have some old Henri Chedevill
es out there? I have a 3* MO and really have no idea what it is all about

but the Chedeville is legendary and this one plays quite well.

More later.
