Another opinion related to "blowing out" clarinets is that a clarinet
that is played by an inferior player will be "played" out-of-tune, and
(presumably) will not recover. I have heard similar opinios regarding
violins and flutes, and know players who will not allow anyone else to
touch their instruments.

Has anyone had this happen to one of their instruments? I can understand
that letting someone else play an instrument for a while could affect the
feel of the keywork; but cannot visualize a mechanism that would change
the intonation of the instrument irreversably.
