A further thought--it has been my experience that clrinets that are not used-
sit around for long periods of time and dry up get poorly with age. So I
have some older instruments--even a set that I have some of my students play--
they can't afford better--at the moment--I do not want to let them (clarinets)
dry-up--so. If they are maintained and played they hold up pretty well.

PS: I have also been told that if the bore gets really (LH) gucked up the
horn plays bery poorly indeed. Keep your bores clean--I've got some clarinets
with 289,000 miles+ on them and the bore still looks like a good skeet gun.
