A bit more about vibrato--I recall reading (perhaps in Brymer's book) that
Muhlfeld used a good deal more vibrato than Joachim did. Granted that it is
reported that Joachim was not very agressive in the vibrato area--but to have
a report that Muhlfeld used more is food for thought. Does anyone recall
having read this about the quintet performance? If not I will have to look
until I find it--I did not imagine it nor did I make it up.

To save time--how would one know if he did or didn"t? We have no recordings
but there are writings of Muhlfeld's performances--we can assume then that cont
emporaries writing about his playing mentioned VIBRATO and the clarinet.
