Subj: Weight lifting for clarinet

Tom Ascher asks about ways of supporting the weight of a clarinet.
I've seen the "Weight Lifter" stand advertised in "The Clarinet".
It rests on the floor, and you rest your bell on it. Tom, if you
don't have access to issues of "The Clarinet", let me know and
I'll look up the information at home.

Speaking of instrument stands, if any of you double baritone sax
I highly recommend the Belmonte stand. (This is used when you're
not playing.) My beau gave me one recently and it beats my old
La Voz stand by a mile: costs less than half as much, lighter,
better support for the base of the instrument, and it looks cool :-).
