I don't use a dampit, but what worked for the bass I had last year was
just a small piece of sponge, laid between the joints near the edge of
my case.

Another orchestra bummer - my solo during Christmas Festival didn't
make the CD =( Hopefully our on-campus public radio station will have
an archival recording that I can beg/borrow/steal...I do have another
recording of that particular piece (_Messiah, Prince of Peace_ by
Daniel Kallman), but it's from a few years ago.

While I'm rambling, have I ever shared my Cool Experience (tm) from
last year? One of the pieces that my band played at our Cathedral
Concert last year actually had a contrabass clarinet SOLO! Does
anyone out there know of any other band pieces that have contra solos?
I want to drop a few hints to our new band director *evil grin*
