Sigh! I feel disconsolate. I sense a sharp intelligence whose
mind is already made up on a subject. And when that happens, it is
better for me not to pursue it.

You are, of course, welcome to hold any opinions that you wish to hold.
Far be it for me to suggest that my opinions are nobler than yours, or
vice versa. But I only want to add that opinions do not come from
nothingness. They are built on a body of knowledge. I thought that
our dialogue (or should I say "multilogue") would have expanded both
of our knowledge base.

But I sense a sufficient reticence that suggests that I pursue this
point elsewhere. Sorry. It was fun while it lasted and if you change
your mind and want to pursue this on an objective level, please feel
free to buzz me again. I find that I am genetically unable to pursue
such issues any other way, so the flaw is in me, not in you. And this
is not a criticism of your interesting and well-stated comments. It is
just that I can't function very effectively at such a subjective level.
