I just received photocopies of some snippets of Handel's and Mozart's
Acis & Galetea.

In the "Hush, hush" aria, Handel's "flauto piccolo" (which is very
idiomatic F recorder writing) is given by Mozart to the "flauto".
Handel's oboe in the "As when the dove" aria, is given by Mozart to the
C clarinet. The same aria has a brand new bassoon part and an added viola
doubling the bass line. Dunno about the rest of the work.

So much for speculation based on record jackets.
