Colored saxes are avail on special order. Black lacquer is
especially popular right now (engraving and inadvertant scratches
show through in brass color).

The Woodwind & the Brasswind has an instrument coloring service
avail (any brass instrument - inc sax, I believe). I don't know
if they dip them, dye them, or what.

-->Wonderful posting Kate. I could visualise a basketball band full of
-->colored clarinets. It must be a wonderful sight to see. Are other
-->instruments colored too??

Yes, it is icy and cold, but at least
we all have insurance (get it?)
