The Stubbins clarinets were made by LeBlanc. They featured the Stubbins
S/K mechanism that was suposed to take care of the throat tone Bb problem.
The mechanism, invented by Stubbins and the Ann Arbor Kaspar, opened
another tone hole for the throat tone Bb-in essence using a separate tone
hole for the throat tone Bb and the register key. I was in school studying
with John Mohler at Michigan while he was still alive and found him to be a
wonderful man and teacher. In fact, we all used that style clarinet in the
Michigan marching band at the time.....Jordan, you should remember that!
