According to the LISTERSERV of VCCSCENT (which is the big cheese
of this klarinet list), there are now 93 users subscribing to all
this chit chat. I have a list of all the names except for 2 who
are concealed subscribers who choose not to have their namesknown.
They probably play on VITO clarinets and don't want to suffer the
abuse that they feel they might get if this information were to
become public. But this is not an abusive group. Guilt, yes.
Abuse, no.
However, there are a ton of people on this list who are just
looking, not sharing their thoughts with us. That won't do.
Personally, I am interested in what everyone has to say. All
opinions are tolerated here (though some are argued with).
So tell me, why are
Oded Bar-Lev at the Weitzman Institute
Helen Finch in the UK
Xin-yang Zhou at Rice University
Lori Popoff Wacker in Indiana
Howard Givner in Brooklyn
Andrew Atkinson in the UK
Leonel Maciel in Brazil
Wayne Hajas in Canada
Roger Shilcock in the UK
Jeff Wraspir,Tsuhsin Lin, John-Paul Bogers, Mueed Ahmad, Michael Maccaferri,
etc. etc. etc
not talking to us??? I for one want to hear what theyhave to say.
What are they playing on in the UK Andrew and Helen?
Are there reed problems in Israel Oded?
How much does a basset horn cost in Brazil, Leonel?
Did the entire crew at Ithaca get blown up, Amy Wallis, Chris Bakley,
Michael Galvan, jeremy Reynolds, John Waytena, Jen Zych, Mary
Obidinski, Becky Weissman, Shannon Ashe, and Sherylann Branning?
Carolyn Miyashita on Delphi -- where are you? Tell me about your
mouthpiece?? Give me your mouthpiece. Sell me your mouthpiece. Lend
me your mouthpiece. Borrow my mouthpiece.
Jim Perone on the CANISIUS system, would you like to know how many
damn clarinets I have to drag with me in April in order to play
Mahler 5? SIX!!! B-flat, A, C, and E-flat soprano clarinets and
B-flat and A bass clarinets. I am going to make a fortune and retire
to whereever it is you are living (unless it is in New Jersey).
John Duke at MTSU (Montana Tech State University???, Michigan
Topological Suspension Unit???, Meritorious Toughness in the Selection
of Underwear???), wanna play duets? Do you have fast hands? Can you
read music with an eye patch on?
Speak up!! All of you. I know your names. I have your email
addresses. No clarinet player's reeds are safe from me now that
I know where you are. Your only protection is to keep writing thus
making Ron Monson, Cary Karp, Tom Ascher, and me so busy reading
what you write, we can't steal your instruments.
You have all been warned. This is your last chance.
