My discovery of this wonderful list a few days ago has prompted me to
dig out my own clarinet, which has been in a closet since I graduated
from high school 13 years ago. Imagine my surprise to find that I remembered
(or should I say my fingers remembered) the chromatic scale. In the hopes
of soon returning to amateur playing, I need some advice on an instrument.
My high school clarinet is wood, made by Wm. H. Stubbins. I have no idea
if it is a particular model. Is anyone out there familiar with this maker?
It seems to be in pretty good shape but needs new pads. Or is this a
hopeless relic that should be abandoned in favor of a new instrument? (I'm
afraid I'm of the "aesthetically pleasing @-----.)

Any advice appreciated.
