Dan,
You have so much more experience and demonstated competence on the clarinet
than I. And so, I am in much danger of sticking my foot into the California
avacado on this. But, I am convinced that a wood clarinet has a different
sound from a plastic clarinet. And I think the objective reason why is that
SOME of the clarinet sound is a result of actual vibrations in the wood, in
addition to merely the vibrations of a column of air... But, I'm probably
wrong. And I'm only a beginner :(.
