I also would be perfectly willing to play on anything that satisfied my
needs, regardless of trademark -- BUT -- there is something to a name.
Some say, "plays good but has soft keys that will wear quickly", others
say "you've played a dozen of my siblings and not liked one, and don't
expect me to be any different", still others say, "my kind ain't let you
down yet".

Just maybe when a clarinetist says, "Yuck -- an Acme" or "Wow -- a Buffet",
it's not simply an expression of consumer gullibility.
