I have also heard about this srange but bizzare idea. What I have heard
applies to brass instruments. This is second hand but I'll try to be
as accurate as possible. In some of the manufacuters plants
they are making instruments and then freezing them druing the consrtuction
while continuing to work on them. This somehow gets rid of stress in the
construction and the horn is supposed to play much better. I'm not sure if it
really works or not. It was just a story that was relayed in the brass
repair class that I was taking. If anyone has any other questions about the
story, just let me know and I'll go back to the teacher of the course
for more accurate information. Hopefully, I can get back to whoever
before I sign off the list and go home for a month.....
