I have heard of this homogonization when a student of Stowell. I believe
he also performed this miracle on flutes using a vibrator to get things
all going in the same direction. I will have to check with our flute
professor. I do remember discussing this at length with him and prof.oboe
on a quintet tour a few years back. There is a gentleman now working who
"freezes" brass bodied instruments. Cryogenics I believe--some of the
t`bone and horn players here have had this done. I even believe one of
the saxophone majors had his tenor "frozen". I am not making this up-
