Becky, if you can get the most recent issue of The Clarinet magazine
you will find an article that I wrote entitled "Some Comments on the
A Bass Clarinet" that describes in considerable detail (except for
price) what it was I got.

But if you don't have access to the magazine, Selmer sells the model
32A bass clarinet in A in grenadella for anything between $4,000 and
$5,500 depending on who you buy it from, or in rosewood for an
additional $500. It takes 9 months to have it made and it is available
only on special order.

Neither Buffet, nor LeBlanc, nor Yamaha make a bass in A. I requested
one that descended to low C but they would not make it.

I just used it for Nutcracker ballet last week and prior to that
have used it for Mahler 4, Ravel's La Valse, Rachmaninoff's Dances,
Wagner's Ride of the Walkeries, etc.

You have more questions, please ask.

Dan
