Jordan: For me the reed that I feel the most secure with--the one that lets
me do what I am trying to do with the music is the one I would prefer. I
recently played a series of recitals from Goergia to West Virginia to Wis-
consin. Weather varied from sunny and 80, to 22 and snowing. Of the reeds
I had my choice was always the one I felt I could have some control over.
I am not sure that one "sounded" better than the other. It was the one that
I could play then and there that I used.
