The Bb clarinet was the first instrument I ever touched (at the age of 6).
Although I've subsequently acquired reasonable skill on a number of other
woodwinds, the Bb remains the single instrument that most feels like an
extension of my own body.

Despite this, I prefer the sounds of lower pitched clarinets to those of
higher pitched ones and suppose, therefore, that I prefer the sound I
produce when playing the A. It sure don't feel as natural, though!
