Nice point Diana! I agree that if nobody likes your sound, nobody will
listen to you. A point to save our sanity, however, is that most of the
time a clarinetist feels that there sound or reed is bad, nobody in
the audience notices any difference from times one feels that they have
a good sound and reed. I am amazed when people rave about my sound in
a performance that it always seems to be a case that my reed wasn't all
that great. That is why I don't fiddle with reeds as much anymore and I
just play.
