Diana: No the question was not if the recital program would worl--rather
with all the discussion of sound I was curious to see if these works should
be approached with a different sound. Is such a thing possible? Should
the Stravinsky and the Brahms be played with the same "sound" by the player?
Is it possible to do anything other than play it with your sound? We assume
that the music, period and style of the works in question will be addressed
by the performer. I guess I was just fishing about for comment. We hear
about the Brahms sound for orchestras, etc. Can one play various pieces
with a particular composer in mind. You are too modest about your status.
You seem like an ideal student because you think and question. Dr. Monsen
