I wish I could explain the naming procedure for mouthpieces, but all
I know about it is that, for example, a Van DOren B45 has a rounder
shape and the 5RV a more angular one...maybe someone else knows how to
explain it? I do know that mouthpieces are classified according to
various characteristics, like material, length/width of the flat part
for the reed (I am embarrasses that I don't know the technical term for this)
the opening, and other things I couldn't even begin to describe!
Sorry I couldn't be of more help...
Diana
