Do most people have a definition of embouchure that does not
include mouth and throat cavity? Without ever having looked
it up, I've been assuming a definition that includes those as
well as lips, tongue, teeth, jaw, chin -- anything below the
nose and above the neck that alters the sound. (This, of
course, begs the question of where the throat fits in.)

My dictionary defines embouchure as "the position and use of
the lips, tongue, and teeth in playing a wind instrument."
