Klarinet Archive - Posting 000174.txt from 1993/11

Michael Galvan at Ithaca College (whose wonderful students are
burning up the board with advice on every subject known to
clarinetdom all of which is terrific!!) asks how one gets
the system to send one copies of one's own messages.
It's easy: send a note to the Klarinet Listserv (whose address
is LISTSERV%VCCSCENT.BITNET@-----.EDU) and in the body
of the message (not the subject) say
SET KLARINET REP
That is all that is needed. By the way Michael, if you want
batches of previous notes to the board, say
GET KLARINET xxxx
where xxxx is any of about a dozen four digit numbers that will
get you messages from as long as 6 months ago. So the natural
question is, "What are the numbers??" For that you must also
frame a question to the listserver, and that question is:
INDEX KLARINET
for which you will get a directory of available archive files.
All of this good stuff (but not how to play bass clef with a
C transposition) may be had by sending yet another note to
the listserver that says
LISTSERV REFCARD
which gives you the syntax and grammar of all the commands you
need to do all things (except to play the Beethoven 8 solo
without dying of fear).
