Happy Thanksgiving from Ithaca, New York! My students here at Ithaca College
have made me so curious about the Clarinettist's Network that I just had to
abandon my Mac and start to learn how to use the Vax. Here in this inaugural
message I can't even be totally certain that I will correctly send, but
"A journey of a thousand miles ..." The recent messages from Ron, Dan and the
others concerning tone and reeds, plus a pair of concerts this November in
Ithaca by Shifrin and Stoltzman make me want to think and talk about concepts
of tone in relation to halls, equipment, and expectations - but that will have
to wait for another day. Meanwhile, happy holidays, and good luck to teachers
