Muide Achmad at the University of Oklahoma (please excuse my
spelling of the name - I don't have my screen in front of me)
indicates that he was told by his teacher that there might
be a mouthpiece/reed mismatch with the particular mouthpiece
and ree that he was using. (Off the subject, but David Etheridge
is the clarinet teacher at U. of Okla. Was it he who gave you
this information?)

On his first note, I wrote back and asked what he understood
those words ("mouthpiece/reed mismatch") to mean because the
whole notion was unclear to me.

I sort of understood intuitively that if he had a tenor sax
reed on a clarinet mouthpiece, that would be a mismatch of
sorts, but presuming that his reed was for clarinet and he was
using a clarinet mouthpiece, what was the nature of the mismatch?

Muide now writes that he was told that there MIGHT have been
a mismatch (and I am not even sure what that means, but I
suppose I can live with it).
